With exhibition sales already (more than six months out) surpassing last year’ s total, the appointment of a director of business development and the launch of two new web sites (ideaaustralia.com) and (thedigitalshow.com.au), momentum is fast building towards The Digital Show 2013.
To be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on September 13th to 15th, this consumer event will focus on the latest in creativity, self-expression and connection and will peer into our technological future.
Floor space is currently 3,000 square metres more than last year (taking up nine bays at the Exhibition Centre)
and will be divided into three key areas- general photography, professional photography and digital lifestyle.
The show has a new logo to go with a new and exciting look and feel, and this is the first year the public will be invited from the opening day.
With industry heavy weights such as Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Fujifilm already committed, the show has also welcomed returning and new exhibitors including Leica, GoPro, Adeal, Wacom and Sennheiser, among others.
Features will include a 300+ person theatre to host keynote addresses from industry luminaries, a “Training Camp” for hands-on lectures and a central piazza to celebrate creativity.
IDEA Australia CEO Katherine Singson says The Digital Show Melbourne will be all about experiential marketing.
“It will focus on entertainment, education and practicality. We will be encouraging all who attend to embrace the benefits of new technology and unleash their creative selves,” Ms Singson says.
With a strong background in new media and contemporary marketing, 36-year-old Timo Kugler has been appointed IDEA Australia’s director of business development.Ms Singson says Mr Kugler’s focus will be developing effective marketing platforms, offering value to consumer technology brands in this quickly evolving market.
“Timo’s a skilled operator. He will drive change at the core of our business and help us execute our vision of digital convergence,” Ms Singson says.
