Don Burrows On The Music Of Photography

PICA has produced a new leaflet promoting mass usage of photography. The ten-page publication features Australian jazz legend Don Burrows who is well known for his love of photography. Don frequently lectures on photography and exhibits his photos at venues all around Australia.

The general photo information brochure was produced in association with PICA Executive Director Paul Curtis and has a print run and distribution aimed at two million.

The leaflet covers the very basics of what sort of camera to buy, where to buy it and how to buy it. The multi-fold brochure is aimed at the mass consumer and will be distributed by a wide variety of means.

PICA President Robert Minty said the publication was the biggest single-initiative ever undertaken by the photographic industry to build its base entry level.

The PMA has made a substantial investment in the program and has offered the cooperation of its members throughout Australia. Said Les Brener,

"This is the most exciting project the industry has undertaken for getting new people interested in photography and will do much to build the awareness of picture taking."
