As all Wedding Photographers know, food usually plays a major role in the celebrations on the big day. But there’s more to it than the Wedding Breakfast, food plays a huge part in wedding rituals and traditions all around the world.
In Russia newly-weds share karavaya, a sweetbread decorated with wheat for prosperity and interlocking rings for faithfulness. Husband or wife, whoever takes the biggest bite without using their hands is considered the head of the family.
In Norway it’s typical at weddings to serve a magnificent cake called a kransekake. Made with iced almond cake rings to form a cone a bottle of wine is often placed in its center.
In Greece the groom’s day has a very sweet side – it is traditional for his new mother-in-law to feed him honey and almonds and in Peru the single lady who is served the slice of cake with a fake wedding ring inside is crowned the next to get married.
So, whether your wedding couple is being given a gift of pigs or sharing sake, wherever you are in the world, being a Wedding Photographer gives you in with the perfect opportunity to claim the title Champagne Taittinger Wedding Food Photographer 2019!
